Victoria Falls Tour
A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is an immense 1.5 km wide curtain of water cascading 111 metres into the Batoka gorge. Around 550 million litres of water fall over the lip every minute making it an absolutely awesome spectacle. Surrounding the falls is a luscious rain forest, sustained year round by spray created by the thundering falls. There are plant species here which are rarely seen elsewhere in Zambia. During peak flow, the Zambian side of the Falls is a spectacular sight and walkways lead to vantage points across the Knife Edge Bridge. The tour costs just $25 per adult and $10 for children under 12. A guided Victoria Falls tour with Safari Par Excellence will be approximately 2 hours and includes return transfers, guided tour and soft drinks. Please note that a $20 park fee for adults and $10 for children age 6 to 16 (under 6’s are free) is payable and will be charged at the time of booking.
Water levels from December/January through to July are very high so clients can expect to get showered by the spray. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and, if you are bringing a camera, a watertight bag to keep it dry. This is probably the best time of year to see the Falls in their full glory, just don’t expect to keep dry! The Falls are very low in October, when not much water flows over the edge making for a drier Victoria Falls tour experience. This is probably the best time to view the Victoria Falls cliff faces which gives a better view of the shear scale of the gorge.
Compliment a Victoria Falls tour with something else
A microlight flight over the falls or a dip in The Devils Pool on the edge of the Falls is highly recommended at this time of year.
Lunar Rainbow (moonbow) – This can be experienced for 3 days during high water and full moon. The best times of year are the months from April through to August. Please contact us for more details.
